JPRA Strategic Goals

As a Chairman's Controlled Activity, JPRA serves as the Personnel Recovery Office of Primary Responsibility for the Joint Staff and the DOD. In doing so, we focus on the following strategic goals in accordance with published directives, the JPRA Charter, and JPRA Annual Guidance:

1. OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

Provide planning support, risk management, and mission analysis to support commanders globally with representation at the combatant commands; development of PR operational and intelligence support products; DOD program management of non-conventional assisted recovery, blood chits, and SERE psychology; and assist with reintegration of returnees and support to their families.

2. EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Prepare commanders, staff, forces, and individuals to conduct joint PR activities, provide specialized individual PR/SERE training, develop PR planning products, and maintain the capability to assist other USG departments/agencies, partner nations, or others when directed.

3. OVERSIGHT AND GUIDANCE

Assess joint/combined exercises and SERE training curriculum and standards while incorporating lessons learned into doctrine, TTPs, and courseware that improves interoperability, and integrates with the interagency and multinational partners.

4. ANALYSIS

Lead the PR DOTMLPF-P change recommendation process and execute the Joint PR Collaboration and Planning special project while providing capability-based modeling and simulation assessments to support the warfighter.

5. TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION

Adapt the PR network by developing, facilitating, assessing, and overseeing joint PR technologies, experiments and TTPs for a changing environment through research and integration.
