JPRA Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Program

Welcome to the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency (JPRA) FOIA Requester Service Center…the primary point of contact for anyone seeking access to JPRA records. The Service Center is responsible for ensuring that JPRA is in compliance with a wide range of statutory and administrative requirements, including the Federal Records Act, FOIA, and E-FOIA laws, the Privacy Act, Executive Order 13526, and certain provisions of the Ethics in Government Act.

This Requester Service Center only processes requests for records in the possession and control of JPRA.

Each Military Service, the Combatant Commands, and the Defense Agencies operate their own FOIA Requester Service Centers. However, if the public does not know which DoD activity can address their specific area of interest, The Office of the Secretary of Defense and Joint Staff (OSD/JS) FOIA Requester Service Center can assist in identifying the DoD activity that is in the best position to assist the requester. Please contact the OSD/JS Senior FOIA Advisor at (866) 574-4970 if you have a question regarding which organization/component maintains the record(s) you are seeking.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (EST).

The Joint Personnel Recovery Agency (JPRA) is a Chairman's Controlled Activity. JPRA is designated as DoD's office of primary responsibility for DoD-wide personnel recovery matters, less policy. JPRA is headquartered in Fort Belvoir, Virginia with schools located in Fredericksburg, VA and Spokane, WA.
